Cleaning up

There are lots of spambots and spammers that just look for forums to post a profile on and run, today I deleted a bunch (30+) so that we stay "clean" and lean. I don't mind lurkers or real people creating profiles, but crap stuff doesn't belong here.

If you see any crap profiles, pm me with the link and I'll be sure to get rid of them. If I Ban members, their profile still exists (which I think is stupid) so instead I'm deleting and IP banning from the server level. That leaves us a "real" member count that isn't inflated by spammers that have been banned, and makes us know we are at least attempting to be in "good company".

If anyone knows of a mod that will let me disallow filling out any profile fields until I put the member into a specific group, I'd love to hear about it!

I haven't done a "clean up" in awhile, so our "member" count just went down by 60. Yup, 60 bots had created accounts. If you know of a bot blocking mod, let me know. There is a similarity in the way the profiles are filled out, so I just need a mod that lets me block or moderate the profiles created using that type of profile.
