    Question Anyone going to CJU?

For Me To Coupon will be representing at CJU & I'm 100% open to networking! If anyone else is going to be around next month & wants to chat, hit me up!

CJU is Sept. 20-23 in Santa Barbara, CA.

I'll be there! It's my first time, so I am actually a little nervous about it!

You'll be in good company Tricia, this is only my second. The first I went to on a super tight budget motel set by the company I worked for at the time and it was kind of annoying, but this time I don't have to deal with that, so I'll be better able to focus.

Why for, Vinny? I know you guys work mostly with SAS... just not a fan of CJ, I assume?

Yeah I am not a fan of CJ. I went to one CJU maybe around 2004 or 2005. It was fun meeting some affiliates but sitting there watching them give out awards to the worst parasitic affiliates and merchants turned my stomach. Then to boot one of their rookie Am's copied my website.

It is a great hotel and they put on a nice event but I won't be part of it again as far as I can see into the future.

Understandable. The year I went they gave an award to a universally hated affiliate as well, and that was pretty bull-crappy.

We are working with buy.at now too, will be announcing one of our merchants there on Monday or Tuesday. It is true we love Shareasale, but that is because I have managed merchants on CJ and for a lot of reasons we moved them. Viator is a large volume merchant that was on CJ when we started managing them, it took about a year, but they happily moved to Shareasale! I'll be looking to get more over on buy.at and maybe test Impact Radius.

While we will always have product based clients, we are picking up some interesting B2B clients and some tracking that isn't available on Shareasale *is* available on buy.at.

The years I was managing CJ merchants, it always seemed to *miss* CJU so I have never been.

Unfortunately, I think this happens across the whole industry. I saw Affiliate Summit give an award this year to someone who I won't even comment on I think so incredibly low of him.

I had to go look at the awards winner list.... I think I know who. We'll leave it at that

    Onward and upward!

For us, we don't currently work with CJ so there is no reason to go to CJU.

So how do meetings work there, Trisha Lyn? I've had a number of merchants contact me to set up meeting times but have been holding off. I'm assuming that we are supposed to attend the sessions? It doesn't look like there is a lot of other time for meetings.

I guess you'd set up meetings outside of the times that there are sessions, or skip the sessions in favor of meetings. Same as summit, really. There's no specific times for meetings or anything.
